This Privacy Notice explains how Von Holmes ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of OurNest (the "Service"), collects, uses, and protects your personal data. Von Holmes acts as the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.

1. Personal data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), profile preferences.
  • Family content: calendar events, messages, chores, groceries, alarms, and other content you create.
  • Usage and device data: log data, IP address, browser/device identifiers, timestamps.
  • Support data: messages you send us when you contact support.
  • Billing data: handled by Paddle (see "Sharing" below). We receive subscription status and last-4 metadata, not full card details.

2. How we use it

  • To create and maintain your account (contract).
  • To provide and improve the Service, including realtime sync (contract / legitimate interests).
  • For security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection (legitimate interests / legal obligation).
  • To respond to support requests (contract / legitimate interests).
  • To send service updates and, where permitted, marketing (consent or legitimate interests).

3. Sharing

We share personal data with:

  • Service providers / subprocessors: hosting, database, email, and analytics providers acting on our instructions.
  • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
  • Authorities where required by law.

4. Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymized. You may request deletion at any time.

5. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. 6. International transfers

Personal data may be processed outside your country. Where applicable, we rely on standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions to safeguard transfers.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices to protect your data.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service (e.g. authentication). We may use analytics cookies to understand usage; where required by law we ask for your consent.

9. Children

OurNest is intended for use by families. A parent or legal guardian is responsible for any account used by a minor and for managing that minor's content.
