Can I see my Google, Apple or Outlook calendar in OurNest?

Yes. In Settings, use Connect a calendar and paste the secret iCal link from Google Calendar, iCloud or Outlook. OurNest keeps it in sync automatically and colour-codes it to the family member you choose.

How do I see the OurNest calendar in my phone's calendar app?

Accepted Answer

Settings has an export link (an ICS feed). Add that link as a subscribed calendar in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook and your family events show up alongside everything else. The feed is read-only, so nothing in OurNest can be changed from there.

How do I add a repeating event or chore?

Accepted Answer

When you create an event or chore, choose a repeat pattern — daily, weekly, monthly or a custom rule. To change or skip a single occurrence, open that day, tap the event and choose Skip just this once.

Do reminders work when the app is closed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Turn on notifications in Settings and OurNest sends push reminders for events, appointments, chores and the morning message board. You can toggle each category separately, so work-schedule pings and message-board pings are independent.

My events show at the wrong time.

Accepted Answer

That is almost always a time-zone mismatch. Settings shows your profile time zone and warns you when it does not match the device you are using — tap the prompt to update it and everything re-renders in your local time.

An event I added is missing.

Accepted Answer

Check that you are looking at the right family if you belong to more than one, and that any member filter at the top of the calendar is cleared. If you added it while offline, it syncs the moment the device is back online — leave the app open for a few seconds.

How do I add someone to my family?

Accepted Answer

Open Settings, then Family. You can either send an email invite or share your family code — whoever enters that code on sign-up joins your shared calendar straight away.

I sent an invite and nothing arrived.

Accepted Answer

Invites can land in spam or promotions. The Family screen shows each invite's status, and you can resend it from there. If it still does not arrive, share your family code instead — it works without email.

Do invites expire?

Accepted Answer

Yes, email invites expire after 7 days for safety. Resend from Settings, then Family, to issue a fresh one. Family codes do not expire, but you can rotate the code if you ever want to shut off old links.

Someone left the family — how do I remove them?

Accepted Answer

The family owner can remove a member from Settings, then Family. Access to the shared calendar is revoked immediately, and their events stay on the calendar so nothing disappears from your week.

Can I belong to more than one family?

Yes. Joining another family code adds a second space, and you can switch between them from Settings. Each family has its own calendar, chores and message board.

Is OurNest free?

A single-person household is free forever. Once a second person joins, the family starts a 7-day free trial of Premium. After the trial, Premium is $4.99 per month or $49 per year for the whole household — not per person.

What do I get with Premium?

Unlimited family members, shared chores with rotation, the grocery list, the morning message board, reminders and push notifications, calendar sync, ICS export, and event sharing.

I paid but Premium isn't showing up.

Accepted Answer

Tap Restore purchases on the paywall or in Settings. Make sure you are signed in to OurNest with the same email you subscribed with, and on mobile that you are using the same App Store or Google Play account. Premium applies to the whole family, so it may already be active from another member's purchase.

How do I cancel my subscription?

If you subscribed on the web, open Settings, then Subscription, and choose Cancel subscription — you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, cancel through Apple or Google using the Manage subscription button in Settings.

Where do I find my receipts and renewal date?

Settings shows a subscription card with your current status, plan and next renewal date. Receipts come from whoever processed the payment: Apple, Google or our web payment provider. You can also turn billing emails on or off from that card.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen choose Forgot password and we email you a reset link. If you signed up with Google or Apple, use that same button to sign back in — there is no password to reset.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open Settings, then Account, and choose Delete account. Deletion is scheduled with a short grace period so an accidental tap can be undone, and after that everything is permanently removed.

How do I report something inappropriate?

Every shared message and event has a Report option. Reports come straight to us and we review them within 24 hours.

Who can see our family's information?

Accepted Answer
